Summary:
Under the direction and supervision of the Controller , performs the various general accounting and related functions associated with the cost standards, variances, inventories, fixed assets, month end and general ledger close, monthly forecasting, budgeting and other activities assigned.
Job Responsibilities:
General ledger: Assumes full ownership of the monthly close and maintains the company general ledgers (MP and EMS) including compliance with the Corporate chart of accounts and accounting procedures. Coordinates and prepares the reconciliation of all accounts and ensures that all accounting transactions and journal entries are in accordance with GAAP and company policies. General Accounting and SOX: Prepares accurate monthly Moorpark and EM Solutions (SBU) financial statements on a timely basis for submission to corporate and/or the SBU headquarters. Assist Site Controller as required. Ensure compliance to the companies accounting policies and procedures (including SOX). Assists in all external and internal audits Corporate reporting and analysis: Responsible for ensuring the timely upload of monthly financial results (including Stats and Flash Commentary) into Hyperion. The close must be submitted according to Corporate’s Monthly Close schedule. Assists with the maintenance of mapping of accounts in Hyperion and ManFact. Creates and supervises the creation of reporting information and analysis to support the requirements of the operational departments, operational efficiencies and SBU deliverables and governmental surveys & requirements. Forecasting/Budgeting: Prepares accurate monthly forecasts and annual budgets for MP on a timely basis for submission to Site Controller, SBU Office and Corporate. Assists Site Controller as required. Provides departmental managers with assistance in understanding forecasts/budgets and actual spending
Job Requirements:
B.S. degree in accounting or finance. CPA required. Must have 7-10 years of applicable experience, 3 years supervisory. Excellent communication and facilitation skills. Ability to take full ledger responsibility and ownership. Must be able to multi-task, as this position is responsible for many different areas of operation. Budgeting and forecasting experience with spreadsheet modeling skills. Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookup, downloads, macros, etc) with Powerpoint experience.
