Description:
The primary purpose of the Administrative Assistant is to enhance the effectiveness of the College of Pharmacy by supporting its mission and goals. This is accomplished by insuring the day to day activities required to allow the College to function and meet its goals and satisfy its mission are completed in a timely and professional manner.
1. Provides support by providing administrative and secretarial support to the Administrator, Faculty, College Committees, and educational programs of the College.
2. Provides support by preparing, mailing forms for continuing education programs, corresponding with speakers, and summarizing evaluations. Prepares, and mails out reports as required.
3. Provides support by maintaining program files, photocopying, and sending fax and email messages.
4. Provides support by maintaining calendar, screening, scheduling appointments and meetings, and making travel arrangements.
5. Provides support by processing purchase orders, check requisitions, travel & credit card reports.
6. Plans and makes preparations for various events
7. Provides support by proofreading drafts of documents and correspondence.
8. Supports Reception Desk by assisting in coverage and distributing mail.

Skills:
1. Good computer skills in order to set up document formats in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and any other software program required by this position. Ability to compose and/or proofread text/correspondence
2. Basic math skills, including the ability to operate a 10-key calculator.
3. Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively interact with administration, faculty, staff and students. Familiarity with medical terminology.
Education: Any combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Graduate Equivalency Diploma (GED) or High School Diploma required.
Experience: 1-2 years secretarial or administrative assistant experience.
