Operates and maintains sophisticated laboratory/scientific equipment. Quantitative Real-time RT-PCR reaction to analyze the change of expression level of mRNA in kidney tissue. Laser capturing micro-dissection to isolate RNA and protein from individual glomeruli in kidney. Flow cytometry staining and analysis on digested kidney tissue for isolated leukocytes, splenocytes, blood leukocytes, and peritoneal macrophages. Magnetic bead isolation and enrichment of macrophages from digested and filtered kidney tissue. Double staining for immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence; Cell culture of glomerular mesangial cells and peritoneal macrophages. Western blotting and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays. Morphometric analysis to quantify pathological changes in kidney tissue. Mouse breeding, genotyping, and I.V. tail vein injection. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
