Job Description:

Responsible for sales and marketing activities with OEM customers, modification centers and military facilities.  Responsible for taking a pro-active approach and developing sales plans, sales strategies for new programs including business case and competitive summary for management evaluation.  Has overall primary responsibility relating to business relationship between customer and company.  Coordinates support required from other departments to develop proposals or respond to customer inquiries.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

1.      Develop and manage customer relations for securing existing, follow-on and new business.

 

2.      Interface, survey, benchmark and develop plans to increase current business and develop new business opportunities with established customers.

 

3.       Identify and cultivate new customers resulting in new business opportunities.

 

4.      Develops and manages systems and procedures that insure efficient and effective response to customer inquiries.  Work closely with other departments developing a cohesive and cross-functional team to support the customer.

 

5.      Organizes and conducts presentations of company products and capabilities to current and prospective customers, organizations and trade shows as required.

 

6.      Coordinates with and supports Monogram’s Product Development Group with introductions to customers, supporting in proposal efforts and obtaining customer data as requested.

 

7.      Organizes company participation in, and attends as required, customer meetings.

 

8.      Coordinates with Customer Support customer’s contractual obligations in regards to initial provisioning and aftermarket issues.

 

9.      Acts as primary focal point and coordinates response to customer proposals and quotations.

 

10.  Works with cross-functional teams to help develop Bill of Material (BOM) and pertinent pricing worksheets to present to management for review.

 

11.  Monitors compliance with customer requirements and is pro-active in dealing with customer inquiries, both technical and commercial.

 

12.  Coordinates effective communication with sales order entry, program management, engineering, manufacturing, and production control of customer technical or production changes affecting specifications, revenue, backlog and inventory.

 

13.  Provides detailed sales forecasts for annual plan and periodic updates of current business and forecasted new programs.

 

14.  Prepares and maintains a comprehensive business plan for the assigned responsibilities.

 

15.  Provides monthly reports and status updates as required of sales and support activity and other significant events.

 

16.  Directly participates in industry trade shows, customer workshops or conferences to promote the company.

 

17.  Support accounting as required facilitating and resolving any outstanding invoices or disputes with customer.

 

18.  Supervisory Responsibility: Insures that all duties for representatives are carried out in accordance to company policies, objectives and applicable laws.  Responsibility for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of representatives.  Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training representatives and addressing complaints and resolving problems.

 

19.  Initiates, develops and distributes performance reports that measure the companies’ performance with specific customers. Data includes reports generated internally or reports supplied from customers.

 

20.  Plans for effective use of time and resources at all times, including travel on Company business.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:                                           

 

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have through knowledge of aviation interiors market, including specific customer familiarity and personal contacts.  Must possess excellent networking and communication skills (both internal and external).  Must have product knowledge or mechanical skills to learn and understand technical requirements of company products.  Must have the knowledge or the ability to learn and understand customer technical and commercial requirements.  Must have effective leadership and team building skills.   Must have excellent customer service skills.  Must have above average skills in MSWord, Excel, Power Point and MRP systems.   Must have excellent personal an intuitive skill to develop and maintain personal relationships with customers and fellow employees.  Must have the ability to close business transactions.

 

Education and/or Experience:                                           

 

Must have a Masters degree (MBA) in a related field or eight years sales or marketing experience in the aerospace industry and/or or equivalent combination of education and experience.  

 

Communication Skills:   

 

Must have the ability to generate clear, high level, effective, written business communication and the ability to read and understand written communication.  Speech and hearing abilities that allow individual to communicate clearly and distinctly in English.  The ability to communicate with International customers that communicate in English as a second language.

                                               

Reasoning Ability:                                        

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.  Ability to respond to customer inquiries or complaints from customers, representatives, or members of the business community.

 

Other Qualifications:                                               

 

Some travel, both domestic and international, may be required.

This position requires extended periods of sitting while working with computers and viewing computer monitors, and other office equipment.  Finger dexterity needed in using misc. office equipment such as telephone, typing, ten key, fax, copy machine etc.  Bending, stooping, reaching and lifting up to approximately twenty pounds are required during tasks related to the job.  Extensive travel is required, thus the ability to use all forms of public and private transportation.
