Summary:
The HIS Analyst - HIM for Administrative and Financial Systems reports to the Manager of Application Systems and provides analytical services and coding for modules of an integrated information system or a departmental/specialty information system(s). Performs analysis and design for new systems or enhancements to existing systems. Is a skilled resource in a variety of tasks including user needs assessment; data collection and analysis; system configuration; coding; user training; project coordination; and ongoing system maintenance for UCI healthsystem departments. The HIS Analyst will augment the Sr. HIS Analyst to support the Adminstrative and Financial Systems (Siemens Invision, Eclipsys Sunrise Record Manager, 3M Encoder-SoftMed, Spheris and related products), with an emphasis on HIM related systems interfaces as might be acquired or developed by UCI..
Required:

Must be willing and available to support the health science information systems during off hours/weekends as necessary during scheduled and unscheduled downtime situations, new module implementation or disaster recovery
Must be willing to participate in 24 hour on-call rotations as a system duty officer
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
Must possess the skill, knowledge, and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
Ability to take business requirements and translate them into specifications.
Ability to analyze, evaluate and trouble shoot system related issues.
Ability to multi task and manage multiple project assignments
Experience within a healthcare professional or administrative department and/or knowledge of healthcare clinical practices
Desired:
Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
Familiarity with release, hot fix, service pack processes and domain management
HIM department experience
Previous system implementation experience
Knowledge of healthcare system interface standards
Have prior work experience with Siemens Invision, Eclipsy Sunrise Record Manager, 3M Encoder-Softmed, and Spheris
