Summary:
The Sr HIS Analyst, H-O reports to the Clinical Applications Manager. Acts as both a functional and technical leader in the development, upgrades, enhancement and support of clinical information systems. Needs to effectively interface with key stakeholders and facilitate decisions and work efforts that affect applications and patient care practices at UC Irvine Medical Center. Performs meeting preparation and facilitation to identify user requirements, system configuration, documentation, management reporting, prototype review and general project coordination. Manages medium and large scale work efforts and applies project management principles to all aspects of the IT workflow. Will independently maintain and manage large modules of an enterprise clinical information system, as well as departmental or specialty systems. Will work with client/server systems, relational database structures and reporting tools, such as Eclipsys, TDS and Sunrise Clinical Manager and other clincal information systems. Participates in analysis and design of data communication links between systems. Must also demonstrate a thorough understanding of hospital operations and clinical and business workflows, particularly the relationships that exist between clinical and financial processes.
Required:
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Ability to apply logical troubleshooting and analysis techniques for the purpose of problem resolution
Must be willing and available to support the health science information systems during off hours/weekends as necessary during scheduled and unscheduled downtime situations, new module implementation or disaster recovery
Must be willing to participate in 24 hour on-call rotations as a system duty officer
Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills
Experience within a healthcare professional or administrative department and/or knowledge of healthcare business practices
Ability to function as both a project leader and project member
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
Must possess the skill, knowledge, and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
Must have working knowledge of client/server systems, relational database structures and reporting tools
Must possess a working knowledge of HL7 and other interface/integration strategies
Desired:
Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
California RN License, Desired
Prior clinical experience in Heme-Onc, Strongly Desired
