Job Description


Scientific Applications & Research Associates (SARA), Inc. is a leading edge Research & Development company with a wide spectrum of technologies in commercial and military applications. We have expertise in electromagnetic and acoustic sensors and detection systems; directed energy technologies; automated test data management signal processing; small robotics; and renewable and alternative energy generation. We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to design, oversee manufacture, and test, unique prototype devices.



Requirements


The candidate should have at a minimum a BS degree in Electrical Engineering, 5 plus years of experience, U.S. Citizenship, the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance, and have the willingness to occasionally travel to brief customers or participate in development testing. Other must have requirements include:


·                 Hands-on test and debugging experience with knowledge of standard test equipment (e.g. oscilloscope, logic analyzer, signal generator)


·                 Proficient laboratory skills (e.g. soldering, trouble shooting)


·                 Proficient writing skills as the job will require developing documentation


·                 Self motivation and the willingness to develop new skills


·                 The capability to work and think independently


 


Additional expertise in at least two or more of the following areas is also required: 


·                 Analog circuit design and development (up to 1GHz bandwidth and beyond)


·                 Digital circuit design and development


·                 FPGA logic design using standard tools


·                 DSP programming (TMS320C6000) 


·                 SPICE, Matlab, and/or LabView software tools
