WOODLAND HILLS, CA - FEDERAL SYSTEMS: MECHANICAL ENGINEER
Responsibilities

1) Supporting the electro-optical surveillance system development
team
2) Interfacing with other recognized experts and program customers
3) Working as a member of the engineering team on production
and R&D contracts, coordinating and identifying emerging
technologies for various opto-mechanical systems
4) Support the development of advanced state-of-the art
electronics imaging, image processing, communications, and
control systems
5) Ensuring that the product can be made again reliably
6) Understands the effects of environment on system performance
and system performance will be consistent in specified operating
environments
7) Considering the implications of issues such as cost, safety and
time constraints. Roles and responsibilities also involve leading
and participating in crisis resolution and lessons learned
activities and may involve working on multiple projects as
required.


Required Skills

1) Strong background in opto-mechanics, mechanism design,
robust packaging, using Pro/E Preferred or SolidWorks
2) Use of FEA tools (Pro/Mechanica or Cosmosworks) to aid in
structural, thermal, vibration, shock analysis
3) Electronic enclosure design
4) Proficient use of GD&T
5) Good knowledge failure prediction and analysis
6) Good knowledge of Design for Manufacture (DFM) methods
7) Working knowledge of PDM Link and Pro/Cabling a plus
8) BSME or equivalent required. Advanced degree preferred.
9) Some travel may be required.


Panavision Federal Systems, LLC was formed to act as a separate entity within Panavision International to focus on the Government market. As a newly formed entity, Panavision Federal Systems is now positioned to pursue Government contracts and is actively building an organization based on its business needs. The positions noted below will be based out of Panavision’s corporate headquarters located in Woodland Hills, California, approximately 23 miles northwest of Downtown Los Angeles.

Panavision is recognized as an award-winning designer and manufacturer of advanced precision camera systems, lenses and accessories for customers in the motion picture, television and other industries. The Company believes that its position as a technological leader in the cinematographic market, which has extremely high standards for image quality, functionality and reliability, allows it to offer high-performance proprietary camera systems to the Federal Government applications.
