TYBRIN Corporation is seeking a Systems Engineer at Edwards AFB to support I&M enhanced telemetry projects to include iNET. Position is technical in nature requiring ability to author technical papers to include Analysis of Alternatives and white papers. Expertise in the area of telemetry is required.
This position has full technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing and coordinating assignments; planning and developing projects concerning unique or controversial items having a major effect on the program. Provides expertise in identifying, designing, and implementing required System Engineering techniques in the design, oversight and maintenance of state-of-the-art weapon systems, electronic and network systems, threat simulation and test/training range systems and/or evaluate subsystem operability/interoperability with interfacing systems. Conducts systems analysis, requirements trace, design verification, integration, testing, and/or validation. Provides training/guidance to other Systems Engineers.
Education Desired/Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field (required) with 15 years specific experience; or
- Master’s Degree in Engineering or related field (required) with 12 years specific experience; or
- PhD in Engineering or related field (required) with 10 years specific experience.
Experience Required:
- Must have technical competency in the design and operation of telemetry systems, experience with iNET highly desired.
- Exhibit strong knowledge/skill to achieve integrated approach to evaluating systems design.
- Demonstrated ability to perform independent research, analysis, evaluation and in providing recommendations on new and existing technologies focusing on increasing efficiency and effectiveness while eliminating redundancy through integration and consolidation.
- Practical working knowledge of being at the center of requirements management across the entire product development lifecycle from feasibility to final deliverable, ensuring delivery is in line with customer expectations.
- Capable of solving major problems in a narrow specialty field, or over a broad scope of specialties related to telemetry.
- Capable of exercising a high degree of originality and sound judgment in formulating, evaluating, and correlating broad concepts, guiding the analysis of unique problems and developing new and improved techniques and methods.
- Ability to decide what needs to be done by evaluating unusual circumstances, considering different approaches, and dealing with incomplete and conflicting data.
- Recommendations and conclusions of the individual are considered authoritative and are seldom questioned from a technical point of view.
- Works with key stakeholders including end user representatives, project sponsors and technical experts to explore the feasibility of an opportunity and recommendations on requirements, resources, processes and systems required to implement the solution whilst identifying limitations to success.
- Produces quality supporting documentation such as requirement and functional specifications, seeking sign off where appropriate.
- Ensures the delivered solution is fit for purpose and hence meets requirements to including involvement in owning the requirements documentation and deriving verification criteria and other test documentation.
- Knowledge and/or academic understanding of DoD and Air Force program management procedures pertinent to studies, development, procurement, and logistics support.
- Must be able to travel as required.
