POSITION: Dining Coordinator - SSD
SALARY RATE: $10.00
STATUS: Non-Exempt, Temporary, Part Time (20hrs/wk)
Under the supervision of the Nutrition Services Project Director, the Dining coordinator will coordinate and
supervise the delivery and quality of meal service to program participants and is responsible for completing all
required paperwork.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – include but are not limited to the following:
1. Will prepare site for meal service.
2. Supervise volunteers and or aides who help serve meals.
3. Complete a record of attendance and program income and deliver it to main office on a daily basis.
4. Will plan social activities such as monthly birthday and holiday celebrations.
5. Will keep participants informed of resources, services and events being held at the Institute’s Senior
Multipurpose Center.
6. Will attend quarterly nutrition in-service training and other staff meetings as scheduled.
7. Other job related duties as assigned by supervision.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. High school graduate, GED or minimum of two years verifiable work experience in the provision of social
services to senior citizens.
2. Proven leadership skills, and the ability to communicate effectively and to complete required program
records and reports.
3. Must posses a valid California Driver’s License, have own transportation and maintain liability insurance.
4. Will be required to pass the Certified Food Handler Exam within three (3) months of employment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Intermittent or sometimes continuous sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling and
twisting. Daily typing and use of computer for a minimum of four hours. Must be able to grasp, push, pull
objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead. Must be able to lift up to 20 lbs.
