Summary:
Carson based distribution/manufacturing company seeks a dynamic and outgoing Human Resources Generalist to perform various human resource activities in a fast paced environment.
Key Responsibility Areas:
-Assist with 401k administration, planning, census preparation, etc; interact with the broker/advisor, TPA, etc.
-Maintain HRIS system (ADP HRB) and generate required reports
-Assist with the development and publication of a quarterly Employee Newsletter
-Develop job postings and perform all direct recruitment activities for non-exempt, exempt and professional positions
-Interpret policies/procedures and provide counseling to employee base
-Oversee the administration of the corporate cell phone program
-Develop & deliver stand alone training programs and coordinate all training programs with parent company
-Act as a back up for bi-weekly payroll processing (ADP)
-Coordinate employee meetings, company picnic, holiday party and other special events
-Assist with the development of a corporate compensation program with formal pay grades
-Assist with employee benefits administration
-Independently handle employee relations including corrective actions
-Participate in the annual HR budget cycle
-Participate as an active Safety Committee member
-Assist with shared services activities including mail room administration, literature fulfillment and oversight of admin staff
-Perform other duties as assigned and assist in special projects as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and 3+ years Human Resource generalist experience required, PHR desired
- Experience with HRIS system preferably ADP HR/Benefits Human Resource software
- Knowledge of payroll desired, preferably ADP PCPW Payroll software
- Excellent computer skills with MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio
- Experience in creating training and employee development programs
- Office management experience in facility planning and phone systems a plus
- Strong customer service perspective including the ability to interact and negotiate commitments with all levels of management
- Ability to deal effectively with a variety of variables, resolve conflicts, solve problems, and think strategically
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills required
- Must be able to manage special projects; prioritize work and formulate and execute plans from inception to completion
- Extremely detail oriented
- Ability to function independently and competently in a team environment
- Must have the ability to respond quickly and effectively to changing situations, and to balance conflicting priorities
- Approaches others in a tactful manner, treats others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position
