Responsibilities:
- Assess and determine risk acceptability for new and renewal business within target and acceptable industries
- High level of technical underwriting expertise using established underwriting guidelines, standards and regulatory requirements
- Maintain strong relationships with partner brokers adhering to marketing plans and strategies with each partner broker
- Participate in partner broker reviews by evaluating results, relationships, creating recommendations for growth strategies and taking advantage of new opportunities
- Manage underwriting in flow of business
- Analyze loss control reports, industry periodical’s, quantitative and qualitative data, using clear underwriting judgment to make appropriate decisions within authority
- Articulate underwriting decision making process to management
Requirements:
- Minimum of 4 - 7 plus years experience
- College degree, or equivalent experience, CPCU desirable
- Strong analytical skills and good business judgment
- Good interpersonal effectiveness
- Effective negotiation, sales and influence management skills
- Ability to plan, organize and complete work within established time frames
- Ability to travel to assigned brokers in Southern California territory as required
- Ability to work as part of team
- Other duties as assigned
