Do you have experience working in a warehouse environment?  Are you a team player with a talent for customer service?  Consider joining our Buena Park Distribution team!  We are looking for Material Handlers to become a part of one of the fastest growing restaurant chains in the industry. 


 


 


Some of the responsibilities of a Material Handler:


 




  • Responsible for all material handling activities including; storing, rotating, shipping, and receiving of products in compliance with company standards of quality, safety, and productivity. 



  • Receives, rotates, and moves products to storage areas using proper equipment (i.e., pallet jack, forklift, etc.) in compliance with safety requirements; ensures pallets are built and loaded accurately; follows all safety and security procedures and takes proactive measures to prevent accidents/incidents; strives to minimize the number of damaged goods incidents and tipped pallets.


    • Pulls orders according to pick ticket and code dates, assembles and secures pallets for transportation and stage orders. Verifies trailers are clean, fueled, and in operating condition prior to loading; loads truck by delivery sequence, and verifies the accuracy of all outbound shipments. Researches and resolves issues on pull tickets; completes required paperwork and places in appropriate bins.



    • Ensures all food quality requirements (temperature, code dates, packaging integrity) are met to receive products; ensures that all restaurant inventories needs are met. Works to ensure that quality and/or service problems are met in a timely manner.



    • Follows all DC cleaning and maintenance standards; keeps own workspace organized and returns pallet and/or equipment to assigned areas. Inspects equipment; completes equipment inspection forms; and notifies management of safety and quality problems.



    • Takes initiative to help out with extra projects as needed, in the event of assigned tasks being completed. Strives to continuously improve pull rates and performance. May be required to work in non-bid area (dry, freezer, cooler or loading) as business needs arise.



     






Job Requirements :

In order to be considered for this excellent opportunity, candidates must have the following skills and qualifications:


 




  • High School Diploma or GED required. Certification in equipment operation.



  • Some material handling experience preferred; Freezer, Cooler experience is beneficial.



  • Good English oral and written communication skills; Ability to operate Pallet Jacks and Forklifts.



  • Ability to endure, without undue discomfort, repeated exposure to extreme cold temperatures in refrigerator/freezer; ability to walk, stand, lift and carry products weighing 25-100 lbs.
