BASIC FUNCTIONS:
The Email Marketing Specialist for Oakley is responsible for overseeing and executing our Direct Sales, O News, Oakley Store, Oakley Vault, and product announcement emails as well as event triggered emails (e.g. product review post purchase) and automated emails (e.g. welcome email).
Responsibilities include:
Serve as the owner and project manager lead for email marketing. From a strategic perspective, this includes interpreting the strategy, understanding our brand guidelines and strategic initiatives, setting and communicating expectations, scheduling and organizing resources, managing the deliverables and meeting deadlines.
From an execution standpoint: partnering with the Creative team, working with the Direct Marketing team on list segmentation, verifying testing programs, partnering with our third party Email Service Provider (ESP), uploading files, troubleshooting issues, coordinating creation of collection pages, assigning CoreMetrics tracking tags, and scheduling.
Developing and maintaining the email marketing calendar.
Management of ongoing status meetings with third party email service provider.
Ability to work cross-departmentally to gather assets and content.
Identify, monitor and explain variances to pre-defined strategy for each campaign.
Distributing reports related to the deployment, brand engagement, open/click and conversion data associated to these email campaigns.
Review marketing campaigns and product launch schedules with branded content manager and marketing department to incorporate into the email calendar.
Stay current with best practices, strategies, legislation and industry standards related to email.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
2-3 years work experience in a fast paced and aggressive environment.
Bachelors degree, emphasis in Marketing/Communications a plus.
Project Management experience.
Interaction with social media sites such as Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Vimeo, Flickr is a plus.
Regular use of web sites containing community and marketing content as well as experience shopping online utilizing ecommerce sites is a plus.
Experience in providing financial analysis and presenting information.
Proficient experience in the mechanics of email.
Outstanding communication skills.
A good sense of creative design.
Understanding of concepts/terms such as: HTML, Rich Text, Text, CAN-SPAM, Deliverability, Domain, ISP, URL, Alt-tag, etc.
Proficient written and grammatical skills.
Proficient experience with Mac OS environment and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
Able to organize and manage multiple tasks with production schedules in mind.
Experience using CoreMetrics and eDialog tools a plus.
