National Interpreter Certification (NIC) for American Sign Language through the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) and the National Association of the Deaf (NAD)

Three years experience providing direct client-related services to persons experiencing mental health, drug abuse or alcohol disorders OR possession of a Masters degree from an accredited college in a behavioral science field such as psychology, counseling or social work

Interviewing and screening prospective clients to assess the treatment programs for a broad range of disorders
Assist with residential placements, benefits acquisition, vocational rehabilitation
Perform individual case management
Assist clients in identifying and correcting inappropriate behavior
Implementing and evaluating treatment or recovery plans for a variety of clients
Maintain accurate client records
Complying with state and federal regulations regarding the treatment of mentally ill clients
Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with interdisciplinary staff, clients, families and within county and community organizations
Provide linkage to community based resources
Recommending and assisting in the establishment of new services as needed
