What We’re Looking For:
Under the direction of the Resource & Referral Coordinator, the Bilingual Inclusion Specialist will be
responsible for providing trainings, resources, support groups and technical assistance to providers and
families. Provides enhanced special needs child care referrals; link families with children having special
needs to community and educational entities such as school districts, Regional Centers, community mental
health centers, etc. for appropriate services; and serves as a resource to the community on matters related to
special needs. You will coordinate training and outreach opportunities, promote and disseminate resource
information to child care providers serving children with special needs as well as coordinate parent and
provider support groups to address inclusion issues.
Other key duties include serving as an advocate for children with special needs and their families;
maintaining up to date provider and caller records per the California Data Standardization guidelines, assist
in collection and reporting of project data and attending necessary meetings and community activities as
required.
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES YOU SHOULD POSSESS:
? Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, or related field (i.e. Psychology,
Sociology, Human Development) from an accredited university. Relevant work experience in special
needs may be substituted for college level education.
? Minimum of 2-3 years related experience in child development or special needs.
? Must have knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices for children.
? Must have working knowledge of California’s child care, special needs and education service systems.
? Must be bilingual Spanish/English in both oral and written language.
? Must have excellent communication, written, verbal and presentation skills.
? Strong problem-solving, follow-up, multi-tasking and organization skills.
? Ability to organize and present program information and community resources effectively.
? Requires excellent customer relation skills and the ability to create, implement and maintain
cooperative and collaborative working relationships with co-workers, supervisors, community
resources and the public.
? Requires the exercise of independent discretion and judgment in analyzing facts and circumstances and
in determining course of action for specific situations.
? Involves application of broad knowledge of special needs and child care resources and general child
care information.
? TB and fingerprint clearance required.
? Ability to work flexible days including evenings and weekends.
This position is full time, temporary position with no benefits. The position may continue if
additional funding is secured.
