Summary:
Under the direction of the Nurse Manager and Primary Care Medical Director, the incumbent is responsible for all management functions related to the delivery of patient care, as well as the quality of nursing practice and the standards of care in the Primary Care Clinic. Supervises and directs all staff and functions in the clinic while maintaining clinical nursing practice skills and clinic specific expertise. Specific duties include managing Human Resources; directing patient care activities; monitoring unit budgets; and participating on departmental and medical center wide performance improvement projects. Serves as a role model and clinical resource to colleagues, staff, patients and others. Incumbent works closely with the manager and medical director to ensure financial success of the clinic.

Must possess the skill, knowledge, and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
Knowledge of JCAHO and other regulatory requirements present in an acute care setting
Strong customer service orientation, as well as written and oral communication skills
Current CA RN license and BLS certification
Must have experience in budget management

Desired:
RN Certification in specialty area
BSN
Knowledge of health care insurance, and Medicare guidelines
Participation in ambulatory practice council
Previous management experience in an ambulatory setting
