PURPOSE OF THE SEASONAL CASHIER POSITION
Receives and disburses money, processes credit card transactions, issues receipts, posts cash payment data, and assists customers as needed.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Receives payments from customers and issues receipts.
2. Reconciles daily cash.
3. Balances cash drawer.
4. Assist customers with inquiries, requests and needs.
5. Maintains the cash register area as well as the sales floor in a neat and orderly manner including stocking and rearranging merchandising on store shelves.
6. May participate in educational activities
7. Performs related work as required. |
Requirements:
Experience
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS REQUIRED
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 0-2 years of cashiering experience, preferably in a retail environment.
- Additional appropriate education may be substituted for two years of cashiering experience
- Requires ability to handle cash and to count money at high volumes.
- Requires standing for long periods of time.
- Working in a retail sales environment.
- Some bending and stretching required.
- Working under stress and the use of telephone required.
- Manual dexterity required for use of calculator and/or computer keyboard.
The requirements of this position may change from time to time in accordance with the changing conditions of the business. Therefore, Mattel requires the incumbent to be flexible and to assume any corresponding changes in responsibilities.
