TASER technology protects life, and the use of TASER devices dramatically reduces injury rates for law enforcement officers and suspects. 


 


SUMMARY:


 


The  Network Support II will be responsible for supporting the entire network environment at TASER offices.  This includes the ability to make additions, changes and deletions to any computing equipment on the network as directed by IT management staff.  The ability to communicate clearly and provide input on matters that would allow the IT department to provide and increased level of service to the end users of TASER.  This position requires a team oriented person that can handle a flexible work schedule.  The need to interact with TASER end users providing some level of end user support is also required.


 


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


 


1)    Provide first level of end user technical support, and server support.


2)    Trouble shoot and repair issues relating to user, server, and web applications, desktop and server operating systems, all network related problems.


3)    Perform server, desktop, and network Installations and configurations.


4)    Follow established IT policies and procedures.


5)    Provide appropriate documentation on involved projects as stated in change management protocol.


6)    Build and maintain positive relationships with business departments.


7)    Perform unit and integration testing.


8)    Assist with acceptance testing.


9)    Maintain and create functional requirements documentations as required.


10) Maintain and create technical specification documentations as required.


11) Assist with other duties as required.


 


MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:


 


Three (3) or more years of experience supporting application and server products listed below.


 


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:


§  Microsoft client/server 2000,2003 in 32/64 bit environments, in and out of VMware (ESX) administration and configuration, Linux Systems (Red Hat/Ubuntu), NAS management (NetApp, DataOnTap), VOIP systems (Mitel), Backup systems (Commvault)


 


§  Windows XP and Vista in 32/64 environments.


 


§  Knowledge of Microsoft office suite of products,


 


§  Knowledge of Sharepoint 2007, IIS 6.0, Exchange 2007, ISA  2006, SQL2005, and Project Server 2007.


 


§  Knowledge of DMZ implementations.


 


§  Understanding of system SDLC model.


 


§  Knowledge of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, Ethernet, LAN, WAN protocols.


 


§  Knowledge of remote systems management


 


§  Ability to communicate well, both written and verbally with all levels of management.


 


§  Effectively work in team environment and have the flexibility to adapt to changes.
