POSITION TITLE: Chief Technical Officer (CTO)
REPORTS TO: Chief Information Officer
WORKS WITH: Green Dot leadership and staff, external current and prospective partners and clients
POSITION OVERVIEW: The Chief Technical Officer is a key member of the Information Technology team at Green Dot Corporation. The CTO will primarily be responsible for leading and developing core Information Technology functions and teams including but not limited to Software Development, Architecture, and Application development. He/she will lead, source, develop systems that ensure Green Dot card processing stability and will adhere to best-practices, compliance and regulatory requirements while creating a culture of excellence in innovation and execution.
POSITIONS/DEPARTMENTS SUPERVISED: Architecture, customer facing and back-end system support and development teams (70-80 Employees)
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES/EXPECTATIONS
· Lead the execution of technology strategy for technology platforms, partnerships, and external relationships.
· Build and manage a top-flight technology team and oversee research and development.
· Provide visible leadership for the Company within the technology community.
· Anticipate and react to major technology changes to ensure the maintenance of Company leadership in the competitive landscape.
· Establish technical standards and ensure adherence to them for product development and company operations.
· Demonstrated ability to interpret technology and market trends as a foundation for technology and product roadmaps.
· Adheres to all policies and procedures concerning all confidential information including but not limited to internal use and restricted information, including Protected Consumer Information (PCI) and Protected Health Information (PHI).
· Adheres to all Company Health and Safety policies and procedures.
· Administer duties as defined by the Green Dot performance review plan within the required deadlines.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Must be able to demonstrate ability to manage multiple cross functional initiatives
- Excellent interpersonal and management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- At least 15 years in software engineering, with 7 in an executive-level position.
- 5+ years experience at large, fast paced, highly innovative bank or financial services companies.
- Deep understanding of bankcard processing, ATM Networks, Online Banking services, bank automation/processing, financial services product development, call center applications, mobile phone banking, check 21 technology, PCI compliance, Internal bank level control IT and reporting, data warehouse design, data privacy laws, SOX compliance initiatives related to IT audit and control.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills and ability to create a culture of over-achievement and pride.
- Bachelor’s degree minimum, masters in information systems, computer science, MBA or similar preferred
